Eating with the Seasons

Lets look at the word 'nutrition'

Nut means light and rition means process. 

Thus, nutrient it the process of light. 

That's it folks, it's damn simple. Eat whole foods which are in-line with the seasons of the sun. 

If you take the time to smell and touch your foods, and even eat with your HANDS, you'll start to notice that you're more attracted to certain foods than others. 


Why?

Because our bodies are created to eat seasonally and so we are attracted to fruits and vegetables that are in-season. 

Every mouthful should be scrumptious and leave you wanting more, who said eating healthy tastes bad!!!! 

Now, a few of you may already know that I've touched down in Oz and I'm already loving the tropical summer feel. 

For you locals, it is important that you focus on eating seasonal fruits and vegetables with an emphasis on fruits and raw foods. 

Summer is a time for cold, raw foods.... 

Summer is a great time to eat cold, raw foods because the weather is warm and it's supporting your body to digest these foods. Think raw juices, fruits and nuts. 

In winter it's important to move into warmer foods like soup, and all your root veggies like potato and pumpkin. 

You won't catch me without a bag of my Tropical Pulse in the summer months as I like to take full advantage of the pineapple and other beautiful flavours that are in season. 

It just makes sense, tropical flavours in the warmer months! 

And don't worry about it too much folks, go with your gut, it won't tell you to eat a boiling hot soup on a scorching day, just like it won't tell you to eat a frozen smoothie in the middle of winter!
