How do you wake up?
So much of good health comes down to how you start your day.
The truth is, what you do first thing in the morning really sets the tone for how you feel and carry yourself throughout your day.
That's why I always like to get outdoors before I do anything else in the morning - it gives me happy feet and then all good things tend to flow from that.
Which sounds like you? When you got up this morning, did you drink some water, do a little light exercise and have a fresh juice or smoothie? OR... Did you wake to the grating buzz of your alarm clock, rush to get showered and dressed before stopping via your nearest drive-thru coffee shop on your way to work?
Regardless of how busy your life becomes, it's important to always make time to take care of "numero uno".
Get up and go to bed a little earlier, start your day with some healthy choices and you'll be amazed at how good you start to feel in a short space of time.
If you're looking for some specific tips, here's a few that can help:
- When you wake up, lightly stretch out your body
- Drink 500ml to 1 litre of clean filtered water with a squeeze of lemon
- Go for a light 30-45 minute walk (outdoors if you can) and smell the flowers!
- Fix a light smoothie or fresh fruit juice and have that before your morning coffee or meal.
Now, if you're completely off-track with your health, there's a good chance that you're dealing with some internal toxicities and deficiencies that need to be flushed out.
Going on a mini juice cleanse or a fast for a few days can do wonders for breaking through some bad habits and re-setting your entire system and I'd highly recommend that if you're up to it.
Your daily routines, especially what you do first thing in the morning, will define the state of your health, so tomorrow morning make it a good one!
