Why you NEED to snack
I don't know about you, but I am SO over hearing about the 'Three Square Meals a Day' theory, sounds exactly like something cooked up in a marketing office to control the peoples eating habits... but hey, that's just me.
No matter what the intention was, the idea that you should eat three large meals a day just doesn't align with vibrant health.
Our ancestors knew that they needed to eat a series of small, nutrient-dense meals throughout the day, and it's time we get back to that ancient knowledge.
Have you ever felt sluggish and tired after eating a big meal? I know that's a yes for most of you.
Our bodies really do struggle to digest and process large portions of food, and it takes up all our healing energy in order to do so.
This is contrasted by the small energy boosts you can feel when you eat light, nutritious meals that nourish your body.
But hold up now, not all snacks are created equal.
When it comes to snacks, stick to whole food snacks like:
- Popcorn (NOT the kind that is made in a bag in the microwave, this stuff is as carcinogenic as it gets)
- Fruit (either organic or soaked in apple cider vinegar)
- Juice (Cold pressed, blended or however you like it, but make sure it's 100% REAL and don't fall for the "all natural" sticker)
In short, just make sure when you are snacking that it comes from nature!
Anyway, I hope you will give snacking a go because I know you will really feel the benefits of it over time.
